Frequently asked questions
Common questions about our contract administration services for Sydney home builders.
Yes — and we encourage it. ScopeWise Advisory provides contract administration, not legal advice. We handle the commercial discipline (claims, notices, registers, deadlines), but if a dispute escalates to formal proceedings or you need a contract reviewed for legal risk, you should engage a construction solicitor. We work well alongside solicitors and can provide them with an organised paper trail when needed.
We operate entirely off-site. Each week, we review your project correspondence, prepare and issue notices where required, update your registers, and flag upcoming deadlines. You stay on site running the build — we handle the paperwork remotely via email, shared drives, and a fortnightly status update.
We work with HIA, ABIC, MBA, Australian Standard (AS), and bespoke residential contract forms commonly used in NSW residential construction. If you're unsure whether your contract is supported, book a triage call and we'll let you know.
We're built for small-to-mid custom home builders in Sydney — typically turning over $500k–$2M per year, running 1–5 active projects, without a dedicated contracts person on staff.
Pricing depends on the number of active projects and scope of work. We offer both monthly retainer and percentage-of-project-value models. Book a free 15-minute triage call and we'll give you a straight answer.
Because we operate independently and remotely, harder conversations — variation notices, EOT enforcement, payment pushback — come from your CA, not from you. You keep the relationship with the architect and owner. We keep the contract tight.

Yes. We work as an independent owner's representative on custom home builds. We review your builder's progress claims, assess proposed variations, monitor contract deadlines, and give you a clear picture of where your project stands commercially. If your builder already has SWA engaged, we can't act for both sides — but we're happy to discuss your situation on a quick call.
We can only act for one party on any given project. If your builder is already a client, we'll let you know upfront and can recommend independent alternatives.
